Powerpoint by Smile24-7:

k so mr.jacklin told us what we are doing now. discuss 3 parables. explain and retell 1 in modern terms. which one r we going to retell/explain? below this i added a powerpoint for the ten virgins. it shows the meaning and an example of a meaning it could be to us. check it out. should this be the 1 parable we choose to explain and retell? the powerpoint still needs lots of pix and and backgrounds and stuff. save it to ur computer, edit it, and upload it.

now i'm pretty sure we arent aloud to do a powerpoint because it isn't on the list for what are media can be so explained the parable of the ten virgins on toondoo.

I think that we should do our new parable on the parable of the 10 virgins: here is a kind of dumb and lame idea but oh well and it is all i can think of right now: There were 10 families going on a trip. 5 families brought extra money for baggage fees, and the other 5 did not. The five families without any extra money ran to the atm; however, when they were gone, the plane boarded and was ready to leave. They knocked on the closed plane door, however, they weren't let in. -smile-

hey smiling trio,Our prorject is now due MAY 12th. will you please tell me what we are doing? i am doing a parable and each of you can do a parable if thats okay with you?? i AM doing the parable of talants okay!!??well let me know......bye!=)

hey
Anyone from my group that has ideas for a beter name, be free to change it! Also, anyone that has ideas, thoughts, or whatever, in our group is free to share, we should all put in our opinions and do things as a group, so nothing is yet finalized until everyone has said what they think. I hope you can all share your oppinions, and i am excited to hear them!
i think we should do all the 3 pt. parables that olivia took notes on the meaning of. and then we shud just like hurry up and make a powerpoint putting them in modern terms so we can get this thing over with!

Parables I think we should do:

-Parable of the Wedding Banquet: Matthew 22:1-14(3 points)
*this parable is about how everyone is invited to heaven but few can get in. the man without wedding clothes was told about jesus (given wedding clothes) but
chose not to believe in God or rejected him. (he chose not to wear the clothes)
commentaries (parable fo the wedding banquet)

-Parable of the Talents: Matthew 25:14-30 (3 points)
*meaning???
this means try and do our best with what God gives us. (talent is about (over 32,000 dollars) 10yrs of work) the talent representst what God gives us, the sevent represents us, and the servants represent god, and his household represented Heaven. Often times some people are blessed with more than others, as long as you try your hardest with what you have you have donte good. We are here on earth to serve God and if we use what he gave us for his glory, and greater glory, our life has been useful. http://www.gotquestions.org/parable-talents.html

the 10 virgins
half were prepared for judjement day, the other 5 werent and went to hell because there is no warning for judgement day, it comes without warning
commentaries (parable of talents)

Things in common:
  • they have to do with judgement day, being prepeared, and even doing your best for God

-Parable of the Sower: Matthew 13:1-23 (2 points)
*meaning???
commentaries (parable of the sower) http://www.gotquestions.org/parable-sower.html

i think that we could do the parable of the ten virgins (i think we should JUST research this one)
http://www.gotquestions.org/parable-ten-virgins.html click on that website for the meanning.

i did more research on the brainstorming page

Schedual

  1. Join the bca-stj.wikispaces.com wiki site.
  2. Using the tool **Edmodo**, get to know each other for the purposes of forming a group (Check schedule for how long this "handshake" time lasts).
  3. On the "**Student Groups**" page, create another wiki page as a group workspace where you will communicate with your partners in the discussion tab and collaborate on ideas.
  4. The group work page will be a place to capture your learning about the Kingdom parables and begin brainstorming and planning your modern retelling.
  5. Read and research the **"Kingdom Parables"** of Jesus in the Book of Matthew. Pick three of the parables to focus on and learn about ("focus on and learn about" means that the group has discussed and dissected its meaning and how it fits into the themes of the other two parables your group choose to work on). Refer to the bottom of the "**Kingdom Parables"** page for instructions on how to choose your parables.**
  6. Retell one of the parables so that a teenager in 2009 would understand what Jesus is trying to convey.
  7. Choose from the following tools to convey your parable retelling: ToonDoo, Glogster, Bubbleshare, SlideShare, Podomatic(posted to the BCA Technology podcast channel), or a Video uploaded to Vimeo (contact Ms. Durff). If you would like to use another online tool not mentioned above, touch base with Ms. Durff or Mr. Jacklin in the discussion on this page so we can discuss it. We are pretty open-minded!
  8. Your final and completed project must be embedded and clearly marked on your groups wiki page.
