The Parable of the Wedding Banquet
1Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying: 2"The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. 3He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come.
4"Then he sent some more servants and said, 'Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.'
5"But they paid no attention and went off—one to his field, another to his business. 6The rest seized his servants, mistreated them and killed them. 7The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city.
8"Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. 9Go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.' 10So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, both good and bad, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.
11"But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. 12'Friend,' he asked, 'how did you get in here without wedding clothes?' The man was speechless.
13"Then the king told the attendants, 'Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'
14"For many are invited, but few are chosen."

Remix:
One day, a boy from Junior Peoples High was having a party. He told his mom to go give out invitations. The invitations said, "COME TO THE KING'S PARTY (no, not Elvis)". Nobody showed up. The boy got sad. The kids from his school took his mom and beat her up. The 'King' was extremely angry now. He told his dad, "Daddy, please go beat them up for me!". "No! But I can invite kids from other schools," the daddy said. "Oh thank you Daddy!" The king hugged his dad really tight, so much that when he pulled away, his nose was bleeding! "Oh no, not a bloody nose! I feel like a loser!" the king said. "Ok, you clean up your face while I hand out invitations," His dad said. Later during the party, there was a dude wearing pants below his waist, with tattoos and piercings. "Hey," the king said, "Why are you wearing gangster clothes, man? Go put on appropriate clothing!!!!" The king tied up the gangster, and threw him outside into the darkness to cry like a baby.

What the Remix Means:
Our remix is saying how that Jesus has a a place prepared for us in Heaven, and no one takes the offer. So if you don't accept Jesus, you're in the dark.

What the Parable Means:
The parable means that if you reject the things that God gives us then that means that we are rejecting him because if he gives you gifts you should use those thing to do good because that is what He would want us to try to accomplish and achieve. We should cherish and love the things that God gives us and respect those things. Like when He sent Jesus into the world for us so that we could be in heaven with him and be saved for all of our sins and mischief. We should love and cherish God and the gifts that he gives us
.

The Parable of the Talents
14"Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his property to them. 15To one he gave five talents[a] of money, to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. 16The man who had received the five talents went at once and put his money to work and gained five more. 17So also, the one with the two talents gained two more. 18But the man who had received the one talent went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master's money.
19"After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20The man who had received the five talents brought the other five. 'Master,' he said, 'you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.'
21"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'
22"The man with the two talents also came. 'Master,' he said, 'you entrusted me with two talents; see, I have gained two more.'
23"His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'
24"Then the man who had received the one talent came. 'Master,' he said, 'I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25So I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.'
26"His master replied, 'You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? 27Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.
28" 'Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents. 29For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. 30And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'

Remix:
One day there was a group of talking meerkats that were going to school. When they got to school their teacher told them that it was almost summer vacation. The teacher wanted to ask them who wanted to take care of her eight turtles over summer vacation. Three of the meerkats raised their hands and said they wanted to take care of her turtles. One of them said they wanted to take care of 5 of them. Another meerkat said she wanted to take 2 of the turtles. And the third meerkat wanted to only take care of one. Over the summer, the meerkat that took care of 5 turtles wanted to get 5 more for the class, so she went out and bought 5 more. The meerkat with only 2 turtles wanted to double her amount of turtles so she went out and bought 2 more. But, the mere cat with only one turtle was scared of hurting it, so she went out and buried the turtle, so that nothing could hurt it. Then she came back to check on it a week later, and it was dead. When it came time for school to start again, the teacher asked the meerkats to turn in their turtles, and she was very impressed with the first two meerkats. But then when she saw the third one, she expelled her from the school forever, and gave the mere cat that came back with ten turtles another turtle to take home with her, and the meerkat with 4 turtles, a prize that consisted of candy and such.

What the Remix Means:
Our remix means that if you don't use the things God gives you then you will end up in the dark, where there will be weering and gnashing of teeth.

What the parable Means:
In the Parable of the Talents, Jesus was trying to say that he gives everyone talents, and even though our talents are all different, God still wants us to use them wisely and to the best of our abilities. The man who had received one talent did not use his talents as the King had wanted him to. And I think that Jesus is saying that if you use them wisely like the other two did, than you will recieve good things. God is also saying that if you use what your good at, to get more good things, than you will be able to have true happiness, but if you do not use your talents, than your talent will be worthless, and you will be in the darkness, not knowing what things you could have accomplished if you had only listened to God and used your talents. I think another point of this is saying that even if you only have one, or a few things that you are good at, when you use that one thing that you are good at, you will begin to discover other things that your good at also, and therefore you will be gaining other talents that you can use to glorify God, and also help yourself out. We should invest in our talents so that we could have even more talents. That is good for everyone so that we can use our talents to help the world, such as a policeman, a firefighter, a doctor, or even the president of a country. If we invest in or talents we can do a lot of good for the entire world. What I think is the main meaning, is that Jesus is telling everyone that he is kind of delegating us to be stewards, and take care of his Kingdom. Since God uses the term of the money as "talents", we have to make assumptions as to what he might be getting at. The king trusts the servants with his talents, which is a big deal, since they were probably worth so much. Its just like God, trusting us to take care of his kingdom, and use it to make more, and do good. He trusts us with such a big thing because He believes in us, even if we do mess up sometimes. The servants who did well with their money were rewarded, and were given more responsiblilty, beasuse the Lord knows that they will do well, but the servant who did not prosper with his money is scolded, rejected, and punished. Just like what would happen in real life if God trusts us in something small, and we mess it up because we did not even try.This is the believing remnant which is the promise of the kingdom. So what I think its saying is that if we can work hard, and do well with the little things that God give us, we will be given much more, like his entire kindom.

Why Parables?

1
That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake. 2Such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people stood on the shore. 3Then he told them many things in parables, saying: "A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. 8Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. 9He who has ears, let him hear."
10The disciples came to him and asked, "Why do you speak to the people in parables?"
11He replied, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. 12Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. 13This is why I speak to them in parables:
"Though seeing, they do not see;
though hearing, they do not hear or understand. 14In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:
" 'You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
15For this people's heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears,
and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.'[[[#fen-NIV-23555a|a]]] 16But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. 17For I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.
18"Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: 19When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown along the path. 20The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is the man who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. 21But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away. 22The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful. 23But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown."

What it Means:
If you plant your life on thorns you will struggle and choke. If you plant yourself in the rocks and try to take an easier path to growth you will wither spiritually. If you plant yourself on the fertile soil you will grow slowly, but, you will grow for Jesus.
